Luke 2:1-20

Regardless of the manner in which we're used to celebrating Christmas, or the customs we associate with the season, one thing that we have in common as people is our desire to be connected. Our world has craved and longed for connectedness this year -- a connectedness with our families and friends, with our co-workers and colleagues, and with those who live in our neighborhoods and communities.

But as much as we crave and long for connectedness with one another, we actually long for a connectedness beyond ourselves. Those who we find in this Christmas story had a connectedness beyond themselves; they each had a connectedness with God, and that's why they were in such awe and wonder at the birth of Jesus!
