Lytton Ministry Update - March 2024

Easter is coming when we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. It signifies new life and new birth. Our prayer is that the Lytton community will experience the actual rebuilding and rebirth of the village. Please join us in praying for the rebuilding of Lytton.

Our next Ministry Trip to Lytton will be on Saturday May 18, 2024, during the Victoria Day Long Weekend. Again, we have been invited to conduct our popular Children’s Carnival. This Carnival brings much joy and excitement to the local children. This year some young people from Newbern Alliance Church will participate in our trip. Will you consider joining us on this trip? As usual, it will be a long but meaningful day trip. You can register online or contact us directly.

Recently, the Lytton community leaders have identified individuals and families who fell through the cracks in the system since the 2021 fire. We are starting to gather a list of these people. Some of them are living in the Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley and some are trying to rebuild their homes in Lytton. We have offered to assist them. Will you make yourself available to journey with these people in need?

Please contact us if you want more information or would like to participate in the Lytton Ministry: Jamie (778-552-3123) or Adele (778-834-8419).

“With Jesus’ help we will continually offer our sacrifice of praise to God by telling others the glory of his name. Don’t forget to do good and to share what you have with those in need, for such sacrifices are very pleasing to him.Hebrews 13:15,16 (TLB)

Mayday Event - Children's Carnival Volunteer Sign Up

Updates

Update: April 14, 2024
We have over 40 volunteers signed up for the MayDay event and have enough help for this year. Please check back for ongoing updates on other ways you can help out.

Update: March 17. 2024
Further to the announcement made recently regarding FLC's continual commitment to the Lytton community, we are recruiting anyone who is interested in visiting a few Lyttonites living in the Fraser Valley (i.e. Hope/Chilliwack/Abbotsford) and spend a few hours at each outing.

These folks are seniors, struggling with their recovery from the 2021 fire. They have since been relocated to various locations, trying to cope with their loss. No doubt, financial assistance is a big part of the recovery, but there are many layers in their recovery. The intent of our visits is to show them that we care. It involves spending time listening to their stories, spreading some joy with our presence, blessing them with our time and love, we're extending God's kingdom.

Time commitment is once or twice monthly doing visitation and activities. Please pray about this and contact Jamie at 778-552-3123 for more information.
