Lytton Ministry
FLC’s Lytton ministry started a few days after wildfires had destroyed 90% of Lytton on June 30, 2021. Since then, almost 30 trips have been made to the community by the FLC family from all congregations (over 100 members).
We started supporting our “neighbours” by collecting and donating food and household goods to the residents who were affected by the wildfires. Subsequently we were involved in helping out in their community activities such as reunion gatherings, the Mayday Events and River Festival. In addition, we have provided Christmas Hampers and Easter Gift Boxes to the families and school children. These projects were supported by a broad spectrum of FLC members, ranging from children to seniors, small groups and fellowships. We also received donations and help from other churches and individuals.
It's taking a long time for the rebuilding of Lytton. However, our commitment to the community is ongoing. It is our prayer that new buildings will start construction in the townsite later this year. We will continue to serve them with our time, skills/gifts, resources and most of all, sharing God’s love in action.
Praise God for blessing our neighbours far and near through the FLC’s community. It has been most rewarding and joyful serving alongside each other. All Glory to God.
