On Monday December 8, we delivered 45 Christmas Hampers and 9 Christmas Baskets to Lytton. They were packed into Pastor Larry’s faithful van with only a few inches to spare.
Each of the hampers are family-specific and put together with a lot of thought and care. A BIG thank you to all who participated in sponsoring and filling the hampers. The designated recipients will be thrilled when they open the hampers.
We received the following email from one of the hamper recipients, “Thank you so much for the gift that was sent to Skuppah (Band) for me. I appreciated it so much and it brings warmth to my heart. I can’t express how much I enjoyed it ….. Christmas has always been a tough time for me so your time to do this is extra special for me.”
You have made it happened – bringing joy and Christmas tiding to the Lytton families.
While we were in Lytton, we toured the Nzen’man’ (Birds Nest) building that is under construction. The previous Nzen'man' Child and Family Development Centre that provided support for children and families in the region was destroyed by the June 30, 2021 Lytton Fire. This is the first community building to begin construction in Lytton since the fire.
Another highlight of the trip was to donate a traditional Chinese wedding gown to the Lytton Chinese History Museum. The gown belongs to Pastor Abe’s late mother who was married in 1953. The gift was well received by the owner of the museum Lorna Fandrich.
Please remember Lytton in your Christmas prayer.
