John 11 begins with a heartfelt request by Mary, "Lord, the one you love is sick." Her brother Lazarus is near death's door and she knows that Jesus has the power to heal him. Instead of taking actions Jesus stays where he is for two days. In that time Lazarus dies. The question is why did Jesus delay?
We all have major disappointments in our lives. Whether you're a Christian or not you have to reckon with disasters and failures. In this passage we learn that the power and love of Jesus is real for those who follow Him, but often God has a different agenda than we do.
