Born and grew up in Penang, Malaysia, Pastor Tye graduated with a Master of Science degree majoring in Food Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland. He accepted Christ in 1981. Then, he was actively serving the Lord and sharing the gospel with Chinese immigrants.
In 1984, he received a calling from the Lord to be a full time pastor at the Urbana Conference in Chicago. He had a passionate heart to evangelize and building up the faith of Mandarin speaking people through discipleship training. He graduated with a Master of Divinity Degree from Regent College. He served as a counsellor for Mandarin Fellowship at UBC and helped in Bible studies for the Chinese scholars at University Chapel on the campus.
He came to Fraser Lands in 2007 after pastoring a Chinese church in Richmond for six years. At Fraser Lands, he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and counsellor in the Mandarin congregation before joining the pastoral team. Since 2010, Pastor Tye has been serving as an Assistant Congregational Pastor for the Mandarin congregation. He was ordained on December 9, 2012 at Fraser Lands.
He enjoys reading, listening to music and singing. His favourite sport is badminton. He likes spicy food and enjoys fellowshipping and dining out with brothers and sisters.
