A heartfelt appreciation to the FLC family and friends for sponsoring and helping in the preparation of 200 Lytton Christmas Hampers. We have received enough funds to cover the cost of the hampers.
On November 5, over 50 people decorated the boxes. The work was completed within an hour. On November 26, another team did the packaging. On December 7, the hampers were loaded and delivered to Lytton by another team.
Compared to last year, the delivery was smooth and without incident. For this we are thankful. The road and weather conditions were favorable. Most of the 200 hampers were delivered to the students and staff of Stein Valley Nlakapamux School and Kumsheen School. The other organizations that received our hampers were Nzen’man Daycare, Nzen’man Child and Development Program as well as Women’s Transition House. We also presented hampers to the newly elected Lytton Mayor and Councillors.
In case you’re wondering about the contents of each hamper. There were goodies such as a gingerbread house, games, puzzles, various snacks and greeting cards prepared by FLC’s young members.
Our plan in 2023 is to continue supporting Lytton in their rebuilding. We are in this for the long haul. In our prayer let us wish the Lyttonites a Merry Christmas and Wonderful New Year!
“Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name goes all the glory for your unfailing love and faithfulness.” Psalm 115:1
