What an amazing Community Day we had on Saturday July 22nd – after an absence of 3 years due to COVID-19. Here is the description of the day in numbers:
We do not have an official number in terms of attendance. However, we had met many neighbours – quite a few came for the first time from the River District. A lot of people were impressed by how well the event was organized involving young and old volunteers serving together. Several guests mentioned that the event was very enjoyable for them and the whole family. To show their appreciation, one neighbour donated $500 to the church and another cheque donation was found in the offering box.
A BIG thank you to all our church volunteers – the number of volunteers is by far the highest that involved members from all congregations. Set up for the Community Day started a week before but it took about two hours to do the take down and clean up. By 6pm the entire church was restored to pre-CD condition and ready for our services on Sunday the next day.
One of the marvelous things about Community Day is that it enables our church to welcome and reach out to our neighbourhood. It would not be the same without God’s guidance and prayer support. All Glory to Him who has used our Fraser Lands Church family to bless and serve others. May our Community Day continue to be one of the means to connect with our neighbours.
We are truly “Blessed to be a Blessing”.
