With the help of the West Coast Pilot Club, the Christmas Hampers arrived at Lytton and Merritt on December 22 – just in time for distribution before Christmas! They were delivered through a combination of planes, helicopters, and trucks. A huge thank you to the pilots and truckers who delivered the hampers under severe weather condition. The relief centre and food bank were overwhelmed by the beautifully decorated boxes. We were told that all the recipients of the hampers were thrilled – “they just love the special gifts and treats in the hampers. Totally unexpected!”
All in all, the following is a distribution list of our Christmas Hampers:
Besides the Fraser Lands Church community, others found out about our initiative and donated generously. A couple visited our church one Sunday wearing their Lytton T-shirts and brought their donations to show their love and support for the people in Lytton. This is the work of the Holy Spirit.
Camp Hope Ministry
As a result of our connection with Lytton First Nation Emergency Operations Centre, we will be working with them to support the 22 Lytton evacuee families staying in Camp Hope. Two visits are planned for January:
