Letters to the Churches - Part 2

The letters to the seven churches are Jesus' personal word to the church. He both rebukes and encourages the churches so that they may participate in spiritual warfare. This week Pastor Ben focuses on two letters which are primarily Rebukes. The church in Sardis and the church Laodicea are both compromising the gospel. Sardis' fear of persecution has led them to idolatry. Laodicea's wealth has caused their faith to become lukewarm. Jesus exposes their weaknesses in order to wake them to their spiritually dangerous situation. Not all is lost. Jesus offers both churches the solution to their woes: repentance.
