These days, the most effective forms of mission begin with prayer and listening. Most people in the world are not looking for God, but they are looking for a friend. The missional mindset begins with questions: What are the needs in my community? What is God doing here? What are people saying to me as I listen to their story?

Souljourners is excited to invite everyone at Fraser Lands Church to "Gala For Guatemala", a night put together by the team of college-aged students from FLC that went on a short-term mission trip in Guatemala last month. Throughout the trip, they have reflected together as a team and have spent time thinking about what God has put on their hearts as they took part in His Kingdom work. They would love for you to join them as they share about their time in Guatemala and raise financial support for the children and families they encountered.

The Fraser Lands Arts Ministry has curated a photography exhibit with the Fraser Lands Photography Group to tie in with Community Day with the theme: "A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood".

The thematic direction of this exhibit was meant to showcase and capture the beauty of our neighbourhood, and the aspects that make it a community.

You can view the exhibit in the courtyard gallery in the FLC lobby throughout the summer (July - August 2024).

We are gearing up for our next Ministry Trip on Saturday August 31, 2024. Again, we have been invited to help out in the Lytton River Festival. This year is the festival’s 20th anniversary and it will be held for the first time after the fire in the village centre! Will you consider joining us on this trip? As usual, it will be a long but meaningful day trip. Please register online or contact us directly.

Everyone has questions about life. What is my purpose? What happens when I die? Why is there suffering?

Alpha is a chance to ask these big questions and explore the Christian faith in safe, low-key, relaxed environment. Each interactive session includes dinner, a short film, and a discussion where you can share what you think with a small group of people just like you. Alpha is a place where no question is too simple or too hostile. You are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish. Dinner is included. Cost is free for guests. Alpha starts September 11th and runs for 12 Wednesday evenings. Come yourself or invite a friend and come with them!

We are looking for volunteers to help run Alpha. We cook and prepare each meal for 12 weeks, set up a dining space for guests to eat and enjoy the film and have table discussions all done by volunteers! Please prayfully consider serving in this 12 week long ministry to outreach to those in our community and beyond. 

The roles we are looking for are food prepration, dessert makers, table discussions, greeters and sign-in, setup, A/V, worship, and book table. The Teens Badminton and Volleyball Summer Program is a free drop-in for teenagers aged 12 to 18 years old to have a place where they can have fun playing badminton and volleyball with friends and make new friends. Badminton and volleyball alternate weeks every Tuesday. On the weeks where there is badminton, please bring your own racquets. Click below for more info and to register.

Small Groups Ministry Update
New and returning groups will be starting up in mid to late September. The 2024-2025 group descriptions will be available in early August. More information will be provided next weekend. If you are planning to launch a new small group or interested in learning more about leading a group, please talk to Pastor Ben (ben@fraserlands.ca).

Serve at VBS
VBS is coming up on August 12-16 and is still in need of 3-4 adult volunteers who can serve as Group Leaders who oversee a group of kids. Contact Pastor Becky (becky@fraserlands.ca) this week if you are interested in helping out.

Please note that room booking time for Sundays will be 8am-5pm from July 7 to August 25, 2024.

Sunday Parking Reminder
On Sundays, the upper parking lot is reserved for first time visitors, parents with babies/toddlers (up to age 3), people who have limited mobility, handicap parking, and drop off/pick up.
