As of September 30, 2023:

- Year-to-date Deficit in General Operating Fund: -$124,361

- Outstanding loan amount in Capital Fund: $1,358,691  ($915,691 District Loan at 5.5% interest rate + $443,000 interest-free member loans)

- Missions Fund offering received to date is $141,609 which is 64% of the $220,000 Missions Fund budget

On October 7, 2023, a ministry team of 43 people made a trip to Lytton to conduct a Children Carnival at the annual Lytton River Festival. The festival was rescheduled due to the potential wildfire near Lytton in September. Our carnival was more elaborate with 15 carnival games, 5 craft and art tables, a photo booth, and facepainting. We also served popcorn and cotton candy. It was held in the Stein Valley Nlakapamux School.

The Lytton town site is basically cleared but the layers of bureaucracy and red tape is delaying the rebuilding work. We are privileged to be able to serve and support the Lytton community in their long journey of rebuilding.

Please continue to pray for the rebuilding of the Lytton community.

We can express the love of God in concrete and tangible ways. This year we are inviting small groups, families, and individuals to sponsor Christmas Hampers in support of two ministry areas. They are "Vancouver Urban Ministries (VUM)" and "Help for Lytton". You can choose to support one or both. Please join us in supporting these ministries and the families they serve. Praise God for witnessing His amazing work in Lebanon in August

Prayer:
Pray for more churches to help plant 15 bilingual (Arabic & English) churches across Canada.

Sylvia will be leading a team to visit CRRS sponsored students in Guangxi, China from December 1-11. Henry and Sandra Tsang (from our English congregation) are part of the team.

Praise:
We were approved by the local government in China to visit CRRS sponsored students again after 4 years. Although the China Visa application policies have changed a lot, members who need special type F visas to enter China were successfully granted. Praise the Lord to remove the barriers!

Prayer: 
We cannot share the Gospel directly to the sponsored students, and we might have team members who are not Christians. May our Christian team members be loving ambassadors of God! May the people open their eyes and hearts to see God through us! Please also pray that all trip logistics will be arranged smoothly, and that God would protect and take care of our family members in Canada and Hong Kong.

Family News
After serving for nine years as the Mandarin Congregation Pastor at Fraser Lands Church, Pastor Peter Yu has resigned from his ministry position at our church. His last day of ministry will be on December 17, 2023. We would truly like to thank Pastor Peter & Tiffany for their years of faithful and loving service as a pastoral couple at our church. In order to show our appreciation to them, a farewell luncheon is being organized for Sunday December 17 at 12:30 pm. If you would like to attend their appreciation luncheon, please sign up on our church website when more info becomes available. Please pray for God’s leading upon Pastor Peter & his family, as well as for the future direction of the Mandarin ministry at Fraser Lands Church. 

Steps to Environmental Stewardship 
Starting Sunday, Nov. 12, we will no longer be providing disposable cups. Please remember to bring your own mug or drink container. 

Sunday Parking Reminder
On Sundays, the upper parking lot is reserved for first time visitors, parents with babies/toddlers (up to age 3), people who have limited mobility, handicap parking, and drop off/pick up.

In order to reduce the amount of interest payment on our $1.45 million Building Loan, we initiated a program to allow individuals providing interest free loans to the church. Our current minimum interest free loan is $5,000.
