"A Better Story: Marriage and Sex"

The bible has a lot to say about sex, marriage, singleness and sexuality. Yet, many Christians can feel sheepish about what the bible says as it can seem outdated or even oppressive to modern ears. In this series we will go back and look at what the bible says on these topics and see that rather than a narrative of oppression the bible gives us a better story that we can celebrate. 

It was wonderful to be able to interact with and to hear from our FLC missionaries on Missions Sunday at our church. We were thankful for the many mission booths that were set up, allowing us to see and to understand more fully what the Lord is doing in each of these ministries whether locally or globally. 

In particular, we want to thank Peter & Bernice Wang for sharing their life journey in missions with our church, and for their dedication and passion in serving God through bible translation all these years and decades. They have truly interpreted God's word in their own lives as they have strived to interpret His word to other cultures. 

In addition, we had an amazing lunch and fellowship together with food favorites that were mostly from the Philippines (the place where Peter & Bernice spent a lot of their initial years in missions work), including a fabulously and lovingly prepared dessert tray that was both beautiful and delicious! We thank our food team and organizers for doing such a fantastic job in serving the church.

As we have heard through the sharing time from our missionaries in areas where they have seen God at work and also the joys and challenges that they face, let us continue to uplift them in our prayers as we commit them and the Lord's work through them to the One who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21)

May this be so and may all glory and honor be unto our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ!

Hosted by Michelle Ko (who has been studying at Ambrose Seminary in preparation for pastoral ministry). Please sign up below if you plan to attend.

Servant Partners is a Vancouver-based missions organization focused on loving the poor. They are gifted in training churches. They will be coming to Fraser Lands for 2 Saturdays for seminar teaching in July.

A fabulous week of day camp filled with Bible lessons, creative crafts, joy-filled singing, amazing games, delicious refreshments, and lasting friendships. For ages Preschool - Grade 6 (turns 4 years old by December). Registration is from June 9 to July 16, 2023.

The CCACA’s 2023 JMC “Go into all the World” will be on July 28-30, 2023 at the Evangelical Chinese Bible Church (ECBC) in Burnaby. Keynote speakers will be Rev. Damien Lee (English track), Rev. CSJ Summer Intern Update

On Sundays, the upper parking lot is reserved for first time visitors, parents with babies/toddlers (up to age 3), people who have limited mobility, handicap parking, and drop off/pick up.
